8 Healthcare IT Trends For Job Seekers

By on December 4, 2012

It seems every few months there’s something new and emerging in healthcare IT.  In order to try and stay ahead of the curve CIO has compiled and tracked information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.  CIO has tracked a steady growth rate in certain areas that is likely to continue…but who really knows.

Some of the trends will come as now surprise and have been around for awhile.  The difference is they are now gaining momentum.  I think one of the most exciting trends will be #3 Clinical Data Analytics.  This particular trend pigbacks off of #2, Cloud Computing.  Consolidating data in the cloud gives researchers and analysts unprecedented access to massive volumes of data.

Here are 8 trends to watch in 2013:

  1. Mobile Healthcare
  2. Cloud Computing and Virtualization
  3. Big Data/Clinical Data Analytics
  4. ICD-10 Compliance
  5. Meaningful Use
  6. Patient Portals
  7. Telemedicine
  8. Data Breach Prevention
